The Custom 24 is the original guitar that Paul took to his first tradeshow in '85, and it's become PRS's flagship model as one of the most perfect guitars built. For players who loved the Custom 24 but wanted something that could achieve a brighter and snappier tone reminiscent of the bolt-on maple-necked guitars of the '50s and '60s, PRS decided to go ahead and make a bolt-on version of their flagship guitar that also happens to be at a more affordable price point than the set-neck counterpart.
As you might expect from a company as dedicated to the craft as PRS, they've hit the nail on the head in achieving a guitar that costs less than the PRS Core guitars without any compromise to the sound or inherent qualities that make the Custom 24 silhouette great. Featuring more snap and top-end bite than the set-neck version to start with, the added acoustic resonance, air and sustain provided by the semi-hollow construction truly makes this a unique, amazing-sounding instrument.
