Meet our Team
Having grown up in a musical family, a music business, and multiple bands, Mark can truly say that he has either seen it or heard about it …assuming “it” relates to the local music scene! This extensive experience in the music community of Kentuckiana makes him an ideal resource for current and future musicians. Mark thrives on being able to educate, strengthen, and connect musicians. He wants to help musicians be their best, and he knows how to help them reach those goals…The Master Visionary!
Jen Stricker…also known as the Chief of Chatter & Lyrical Matter, has been with us for a little over 3 years. Her educational & previous work background in marketing and operations paired with her slightly deranged sense of humor, makes her a perfect fit for our team! Constantly cooking up new ideas and finding ways to bring them to fruition behind the scenes are her strengths. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, whether it be at a sporting event, some obscure concert, or a trip to places previously unknown!
Aaron "Bert" Owens
Bert, The Guitar Custodian and Doer of Things, has been connected with Maxwell's House of Music since he was a young kid in our Rock School program. Bert has been playing music for over ten years and can usually be found at the store fixing guitars and solving problems! Bert enjoys writing music, playing music, going to shows (do you see a pattern here?) and he also enjoys a good hike from time to time.
Mike McAfee, Tone Guru and Secret Sauce Chef, is the newest team member here at Maxwell's House of Music. Although Mike is new to us, he is not new to the music scene. Mike has spent more than 25 years in the retail music industry, designed guitars for both Dean and Ovation, and written articles for both local and national magazines. When Mike isn't at the store, you'll find him on stage with the 2-time LEO Magazine Best Band winner Eight Inch Elvis! (that's right....he's the guy with the mohawk in the kilt) Mike specializes in tube amps and tone crafting and also does great guitar set-up and relic work!
Bobby joined the Maxwell team and serves as our “Band Guy,” working directly with our flourishing Rock School and Weekend Warrior programs. Bobby is an accomplished guitar player and drummer, and also dabbles in anything that makes noise! In addition to creating and coaching bands at Maxwell’s, you can find Bobby working on our sales floor assisting customers with their dream gear and also doing repair and tech work on stringed instruments of all types.
Cliffy has grown up playing music, starting with the drums at the ripe old age of TWO and later adding the guitar. Cliffy has been involved in different music projects since he was a teenager and he's been recording music for a little over a decade. Besides being a great addition to the Maxwell's House of Music team, Cliffy has been doing videography and photography for about 6 years, mainly under the moniker Vaudeo Productions.
