David  Borman

A young, accomplished musician, David Borman III understands that music has the true power to educate, inspire, and change people. With a lifelong goal of performing and conducting musical works that will leave a lasting impression on audiences, he studies music at the University of Louisville. In January of 2014, he served as the principal and soloist Euphonium for the Indiana Music Educators All-State Honor Band. In April of 2015, he made his Carnegie Hall debut on Euphonium and Trombone, and returned as a pianist and vocalist in 2018. In addition to being a skilled instrumentalist and vocalist, he is an active freelance conductor in the Southern Indiana and Louisville area. Currently, he serves as the assistant conductor for the Louisville Civic Orchestra. At the University of Louisville he enjoys performing with the Wind Ensemble. He has studied brass with Clinton McCanless, Dennis Akers, and Scott Cooksey and conducting with Alexandra Enyart, Kimcherie Lloyd, Jason Hart Raff, and Teddy Abrams.

David trains beginners to advanced students in Voice, Piano, Music Theory, Trumpet, French Horn, Euphonium/Baritone, Trombone, and Tuba.

Bobby is a 2007 graduate of Louisville Recordings Arts Band & Artist Program and has recorded and performed with a variety of local and regional bands. Bobby is an accomplished guitarist of seventeen years and has also been playing the drums for over ten years. As a Music Educator, Bobby is always looking to guide others toward achieving their goals with music! Bobby works with Maxwell’s as a strong ambassador of Music Education and regularly teaches group music classes through Communities In Schools (CIS) in after-school workshops at various Elementary and Middle Schools across the region. Bobby is also frequently involved with most special events, showcases, and recitals happening at Maxwell’s that involve performance or Music Education. In addition to his work in and outside of the store, Bobby offers private lessons for Guitar, Drums, Ukulele and Songwriting and also serves Maxwell’s House of Music as a Band Coach for our Weekend Warrior and Rock School programs, developing bands and artists in the live setting. Bobby teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced students and takes a very practical approach toward teaching, getting them playing the songs that they want to play early-on while teaching them basic and advanced techniques along the way.

You may recognize Aaron (commonly referred to as Bert) as one of the familiar faces you see around the shop. Aside from being the “Guitar Custodian & Doer of Things”, he has recently started giving lessons in his free time at the store! Aaron took private lessons and went through the Rock School performance program at Mom's Music as a teenager, but is primarily a self-educated guitar and bass player with 15 years of experience. He specializes in guitar, bass, and ukulele, and can teach anything from the most basic beginning chords and techniques, to more advanced playing styles such as sweep picking and slap bass. Bert was a member of the local metal band Prices On Our Heads for over 5 years, and now plays in the local groove indie rock trio Darlington Pairs with one of our other instructors, Skyler Bready. Bert has a passion for music and creating new musicians and loves to have fun while doing it!
